atlea writing
this is the stuff about hebroth and avex, two side characters in a dnd campaign my friends played. i've written it in such a way that, hopefully, no knowledge of the campaign or dnd is required. these are split up the way they are because it was released in sections (to keep pace with in game events), and I think it paces it well. wow these are three years old now. hyperlinks in the writing itself are background music for that section. optional, if that's your thing
bits I can't take credit for:
- everything spoken while the adventuring party is there is a transcript of the session, I just translated it into narrative format
- the characters in here that are fully mine are Avex and Ennari, the rest are my friend’s characters that I just love dearly
- stage 3 part 1 was written by my friend, edited slightly by me
Stage One
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
Stage Two
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
Stage Three
Parts 1-3
Stage Four onwards
Haven't written these yet since the campaign is on hiatus. whoops
other ideas
things i'm still rolling around but think about often.
- dragonslayer - spider xenofiction that takes place in a garage invaded by a bird. might rework into a ttrpg campaign for others to use.
- bellflower - older woman seeking the dragon that attacked her the night her granddaughter disapppeared. stylisticqlly, written like an older fairy tale.
- the commoner's dragon - man hatches and cares for a griffon egg against the law of his country, ruled by a bloodline of dragon riders.
ttrpg
systems and story ideas.
- bad hand - a two person ttrpg played in rounds of blackjack about making deals with the devil and taking them back. playable and available on ko-fi and itch.io!
- paws and claws - versatile xenofiction animal roleplaying system. inspired by existing xenofiction such as Warriors, Raven Quest, Watership Down, and Guardians of Ga'Hoole, as well as by Leo saying it would be cool to have xenofiction about seals, it is designed from scratch to allow a wide range of storylines, settings, and species for the players and game runner to choose from while still being easy to learn and simple to play. i wanted to make something just as fun for kids wanting to roleplay their wolf and cat ocs as it is for adults wanting to tackle more serious plotlines without writing a whole book. related concepts ae earthwyrm, a campaign for burrowing invertebrates, and sirensong, a campaign for seals. not yet playable; running it with friends first to iron out the functions.
- the one with the big pit - a trpg system and setting where everything in the world is slowly drawn into a large, magical sinkhole, and you are someone who has chosen to delve into it. very player-choice-centric, about grief, sacrifice, connection, and love. not yet playable, still flexing mechanics.
